Professional DVThe new BR-DV6000 The FormatProfessional DV is a tape format which is the professionalised form of the universal DV format. It produces a high resolution 580 TV line images. The DV format is an 8-bit, 13.5 MHz bandwidth, component digital 4:2:0 (PAL), 4:1:1 (NTSC) system. The main distinguishing features of Professional DV, as opposed to plain DV, are "locked audio" and EBU time code, which allows it to be integrated perfectly into broadcast and other professional environments. Wide Choice of Recording MediaWith the latest range of JVC Professional DV camcorders there is a choice of tape or hard disk or both, in parallel or in series. There are two sizes of Professional DV cassette, Standard DV and MiniDV. Standard DV cassettes are available in sizes up to 276 minutes, which is over 4 ½ hours. MiniDV cassettes have a maximum of 63 minutes. Both Standard DV and MiniDV cassettes fit equally into the latest JVC camcorders, without any adaptor necessary. The Professional DV Hard Disk Drives are of the removeable type and can be interchanged at will in the JVC Hard Disk Recorder, DR-DV5000 which is a docking device for JVC's latest Professional DV camcorders. There are currently two capacities of Hard Disk available, 40 GB and 80 GB, the latter provides 6.5 hours of continuous recording. Linked by series recording mode, the 276 min.
