Interaction Film workshops
Colin Wells is a professional actor with over 25 years’ industry experience. He recently launched Interaction Film, which provides television workshops to schools,
universities and businesses using the GY-HM100 camcorders. Colin’s aim was to help communication, literacy and confidence for pupils and company team
members.
“Interaction Film was set up in September 2009, after we raised the money needed for equipment,” Colin says. “We purchased the cameras from Notts AV, as the GY-HM100s were
perfect for our requirements and very easy to use. In fully automatic mode – which we will mainly be using at schools – the camera offers great picture quality and a rapid
response to light change. The camera is also very light. When you have to carry three of them and other equipment at the same time this becomes an important factor.”
Colin has been given many pre-broadcast professional scripts from TV shows, such as Emmerdale, Casualty and Hotel Babylon, and can use these for the workshops.
“Two cameras film the scenes, while the third camera films the filming, thus making a documentary of the day,” he explains. “Workshop members get a real feel of what it’s like doing all the many jobs on a TV set."
